Welcome to my second podcast for razorcake.org! While not an original idea by any means, I decided to do a podcast of only cover songs. I know some of you may or may not really like it when a band takes it upon themselves to cover another band’s song. The truth of the matter is that sometimes it works out fairly well but more often than not, it does horrible justice to an undeserving classic song. But if it weren’t for those mulleted closet punks in Metallica doing an EP of all covers, it...

This is the broadcast of Equalizing-X-Distort for Sunday June 15th, 2014. Tonight's show featured an interview with the author of Art Through Intimidation which is a zine that explores Raymond Pettibon's artwork as used by Black Flag. We also did a tribute to Steven Davey of the Dishes. There was a demo feature by a new local band known as Conundrum.

Someday they may settle down and listen to Tom Petty and Astrud Gilberto like the rest of us, but now several records down the line Eastern Pennsylvania's Pissed Jeans continue to churn out ugly, malevolent, sexually alienated/frustrated and boredom-damaged rock music. At a total peak right now with their latest "King of Jeans" on Sub Pop, the Jeans have aged and matured' but instead of going soft they've only honed in on the fine art of destruction with even more precision in...

This is the first show of the new year and we broadcast the studio 3 session with a new-ish band from here called Farang. We also featured a Top 10 for last month. We started a new feature called "Notes from Behind the Iron Curtain" with a...

Background ========== I was using an inductive sensor as my main Z_min sensor. I was unable to use it as bed leveling sensor because I was using a very thin and soft steel plate under the glass. This lead to several issues: the glass itself is not perfect. The steel plate under it was not flat even when compressed so both the steel and glass does not represent the REAL printing surface. Only a touching probe can give you that!!! I like the idea of the piezo - but also plan to use PEI in the...

This silent 16mm footage is a home movie shot by an American serviceman in Occupied Japan. Based on research we believe it was filmed during the 1946-47 and possibly as late as 1948. It is a companion of film 31234. The film features men of the "First Team" 1st Cavalry Division -- which was given the honor of leading the Allied Occupational Army into Tokyo. It also provides a fascinating look at Japan in this era, with its infrastructure heavily damaged and population struggling to...
